Social Media

The real challenge of social media is creating growth of present and future opportunities. Social media takes too much time away from the real world. Some people care more about there online/social life than their friends and family in their real life. With social media creating all these apps and products, people are becoming more and more sucked into their social life.

One of the most common social media site is Facebook. People spend over 500 billion minutes per month on Facebook. More than 25 billion pieces of content (web links, news stories, blog posts, notes, photo albums, ect.) is shared each month. More than 100 million active users currently accessing Facebook are doing it through their mobile devices. People that access Facebook via mobile device are moe active than non-mobile device users.

Another common site in the world of social media would be Twitter. Twitter gets more than 300,000 new users each day. There are currently more than 200 million users on Twitter. Over 60% of Twitter users are outside the U.S. More than one third of Twitter users access the app or website via their mobile device.

What social media sites are you involved in?

The Basics

Basics: What every girl needs, the essentials to start your wardrobe.

Step One: Know your “basics”. Your basic colors will be black, white, different shades of grey, and navy blue. These will make it easier to match with the brighter clothes in your closet. For example you can throw on a pair of jeans, some black combat boots, a white t-shirt, and spice it up with a nice bohemian scarf full of bright colors. Also, don’t think you have to wear one basic color at a time, switch it up and wear grey and black, then some other bright article of clothing.

Step Two: Now that we have our colors down, this works for all articles of clothing. I am talking about the basics for shoes, pants/shorts, shirts, and accessories. Ex: put on some black leggings, grey boots, grey scarf, and top it off with an orange and navy blue chevron top. You can even have some leggings, a light grey t-shirt, and some funky color shoes. Spice up your outfit with a big statement necklace in a fun, bold color.

Step Three: HAVE FUN WITH IT!!! A big part of using the basics is how you use your brighter colors. Like I said before, throw a little spice in your outfit with a big statement necklace, a cute scarf, or a big bow. In fact you can mix it up and throw on your orange jeggings, your bright pink graphic tee, maybe even your purple boots. Helpful tip, don’t wear the last things I just listed together.

Prom

Earlier this morning I was asking my mom about writing and what to blog about. I was asking about what she used to write about because she had a degree in journalism. She told me that she once wrote about how much the prom theme sucked that year. The prom theme was the Flamingo Fling. Yep, I bet you are thinking the exact same thing I was thinking this morning. WHO THE HECK CAME UP WITH THE FLAMINGO FLING?!?!!!??!? Well apparently some crazy chick in student council of the senior class had some weirded thing for flamingos. What do you think could be a prom theme when we’re in high school?

Basket Ball Try-Outs

Today I had my first basket-ball try-outs. Today we had our speed and strength test. Lots of running and we did something called a suicide. We had two sets of suicides, one with the left and and one with the right hand, you have to dribble with your left hand to to the three-point line and back, to half-court and back, to the three-point line on the other side of half-court line and back, and finally full-court and back.

I have a really good feeling that I made a team, I don’t know if I made A team, but I tried my hardest. I have two more days of try-outs and then Coach Davidson said that she would post the teams on Tuesday.

Wish me luck!!!

The Circle of Life

I fell far from that one single tree
And nobody came and got me
I lay there in the grass
And as I rot I watch the day pass
I am just a core now and all my seeds have left there nest
I see my smallest seed travel not to far then stop to take a rest
It was a dark and stormy night and the seed was dug into the ground
And my baby grew up to be just like her mom
What do you think?
Can anyone guess what fruit this is?

Prepositional Poem: Haunted House

Inside the dark and shadowed house
Along the dirty hallways
Down the creaky stairs
Into the old basement
Infested with cobwebs
At the bottom of the stairs, there lay a dead body
As acient Indian shadows danced along the walls
In the distance you hear voices chanting
Ari-adi-a-mus-latte
Ari-adi-a-mus-da
And it repeats…

I am the one who…

…spends along time making a hard decision

…bounces up and down when I hear we are going out for Mexican food for dinner

…will scramble to get to my next class

…prays for it to be winter time every second of the day

…lets gossip flow into my mind and take over my thoughts and attention

…counts down every second until math class is over

…likes to doodle on the back of all my spiral notebooks

…likes to go BIG and BOLD for major projects and parties

…listens to music every second they can get their hands on it

…hums and sings constantly in the shower and without even knowing in public
